Practice InformationJason A. Boyd, M.D., joined Salem Orthopaedic Surgery in 2019.
Education and TrainingDr. Boyd graduated with his bachelor's degree from the University of Akron, Summa Cum Laude, and went on to complete medical school at Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio as part of the B.S./M.D. program. While there, he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and had the honor of serving as Gonfalonian at the commencement ceremony. He then completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio where he served as Chief Resident and helped found their arthroscopic simulation training program.
Dr. Boyd obtained his fellowship training at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. While at Emory, Dr. Boyd refined his arthroscopic surgical skills by learning from some of the nation's foremost Orthopaedic Sports Physicians, and served as the assistant team physician for many area teams including the Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Areas of Practice/InterestDr. Boyd is fellowship-trained in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, focusing on arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee and the shoulder. He has a special interest in ACL reconstruction, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair and shoulder instability repair.
More/Other InformationDr. Boyd has published his research in numerous Orthopaedic Journals and has co-authored book chapters on arthroscopic shoulder surgery. He has presented much of this research regionally and nationally, including at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). Click Here to Learn More
Dr. Boyd's professional memberships include the American Orthopaedic Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has also served as a Clinical Instructor of Orthopaedic Surgery at NEOMED.
