David Prior, M.D., FAAOS, joined Salem Orthopaedic Surgery in 2023.

Education and Training

A graduate of Michigan State University, Dr. Prior received his Medical Degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He went on to complete his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the prestigious Western Michigan University School of Medicine and his Spine Surgery Fellowship training at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California.

Areas of Practice/Interest

Dr. Prior brings extensive training and experience in most minimally-invasive and reconstructive spine procedures. His areas of expertise include back and neck pain; degenerative disc disease; herniated disc; spine fractures; minimally-invasive surgery; revision spine surgery; reconstructive procedures; scoliosis; thoracic and lumbar disease; spinal stenosis; spinal tumors; and most trauma-related spine conditions.

Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Prior is a Fellow of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has written, researched and presented on a variety of orthopedic topics. His professional memberships include the North America Spine Society and American Medical Association.
